Salomon XT Wings 2 Trail Runners
A lightweight trail runner that updates the tried-and-tested XT Wings—winner of Women’s Adventure‘s 2009 Editor’s Choice awards. The XT Wings 2 is great for wide feet.
This new release from Salomon updates an already great product, the XT Wings 2 offers stability on the trail, but has a more neutral feel for roads which makes it a good choice for runners who vary routes to include both. This year they’ve upped the padding and cushioning but also cut weight, they claim 15-percent.
Part of the trick: Salomon’s “Sensifit” skeleton hugs your instep and keeps your foot in place and the symmetrical pull lacing (also an update from last year’s asymmetrical version) stays “tied” and keeps a pleasantly even pressure across the top of the foot. $120 www.salomon.com
