Icebreaker Quantum Plus LS Hoodie

 

I’m not going to be shy: Icebreaker’s Quantum Plus Long Sleeve Hoodie is one of the most versatile and flattering layers I’ve had the pleasure to wear in some time. The fabric is finely spun breathable merino wool lined with fleece, soft and light weight, but insulating with a hint of stretch that makes this hoodie look good while it performs like a rock star. My hoodie has been a steadfast companion for travel and on active adventures including fly fishing, hiking, mountain biking, road cycling, yard work, trail maintenance and while on the back of my boyfriend’s motorcycle. The fit is stylish, flattering and figure-hugging, making the Quantum Plus a great extra layer for heading out for happy hour or dinner with friends too.

Zippered pockets will keep your cell phone or car keys secure while on the move and the long sleeves with thumb holes add warmth for those moments when gloves are too much, but some extra insulation is welcome on chilly mornings.  The hood fits securely and hugged my head like a beanie.

True to size fit insures the Quantum Plus LS Hoodie stays in place, which was critical for fly fishing on a chilly fall morning in 11 Mile Canyon. Plus, it’s water resistant fabric dried super fast after I fell in the river.

What I’d improve?  Though the piece is not specific to riding, it was a great breathable layer for fall riding in Colorado, and I would have loved the option of a small rear pocket for snacks and my cell phone.
